Hot Blast Stove Refractory material Introduction

1. The blast furnace hot blast stove is one of the main equipments for the blast furnace of the ironmaking plant and is a heat exchange equipment. Blastfurnace is mainly used to provide high temperature hot air for the blast furnace for the reaction in the furnace. The function of the hot blast stove is to continuously provide high temperature hot air of 1000℃ or more for the blast furnace, and 25% of the heat required for blast furnace iron making comes from the hot blast stove.

2. Hot blast stoves of refractory materials require large heat capacity, good creep resistance, high load softening temperature, high temperature strength and good thermal shock resistance.

3.Refractory materials for hot blast stoves include silicon bricks, clay bricks, high alumina bricks, low creep high alumina bricks and clay bricks, lightweight heat insulation bricks, insulating refractories, spray coatings and refractory mud.

Different Refractories Material are Used in Parts for Blast Stove

1.Hot Air Stove Vault Area.

The vault is divided into a working layer, a filling layer and a heat insulating layer.

Maintaining the structural stability of the vault at high temperatures during work, evenly distribute high-temperature flue gas into the regenerator during combustion, the hot blast furnace vault area is very high, exceeding 1400 ° C. The products used in the working layer are mostly silica brick, mullite brick, andalusite brick, low creep high alumina brick. The outside of the working layer ues the insulated clay bricks.

2.Hot Air Stove Wall.

Working layer brick, filling layer and insulation layer. The working layer is made of different refractory bricks according to different temperatures, and the thickness is between 300mm and 500mm. Due to the high temperature of the upper part, the use of silica brick, mullite brick, high aluminum bricks, sillimanite bricks and clay bricks are used in the lower part of the middle part.

3.Hot Air Stove Regenerator.

The regenerator is a space filled with checker bricks, which uses internal checkered bricks to exchange heat with high-temperature flue gas and combustion-supporting air.

Checker bricks, which are heat storage and heat transfer media, need to have a large heating area, high thermal conductivity and quality to facilitate heat exchange and heat storage. Therefore, the upper part of the regenerator is made of siliceous checkered brick, and the middle of the regenerator is made of low creep high alumina brick, mullite brick, sillimanite brick and andalusite brick. Clay fire bricks in the lower part of the regenerator.

Different Hot Air Temperatures Use Different Bricks

1.When the hot blast stove classification temperature is less than 900℃, choose fire clay brick

2.When the hot blast stove classification temperature is less than 900~1100℃, the high temperature part lining and checker rerfractory brick should be made of high alumina fire brick, mullite refractory brick and sillimanite refractoy brick.

3.When the hot blast classification temperature is 1100~1200, the high temperature part lining and checker brick should be made of high alumina refractory brick, mullite brick and sillimanite brick or silica fire brick.

4.When the temperature of the hot blast stove is above 1200 ℃, the high temperature part lining and checker brick should be made of high quality silica brick and mullite brick and sillimanite brick.
