Mullite Insulation Brick

Mullite Insulation Brick Introduction

The mullite insulation brick is a high alumina refractory material with mullite (3Al2O3•2SiO2) as the main phase. Generally, the alumina content is between 65% and 75%. The standard mineral composition of mullite insulation bricks is mullite. The lower alumina content also contains a small amount of glass phase and cristobalite; the higher alumina content also contains a small amount of corundum. High refractoriness, up to 1790 °C. The load softening start temperature is 1600 to 1700 °C. Normal temperature compressive strength is 70 to 260 MPa. Good thermal shock resistance.

The mullite insulation bricks is white in color, high in use temperature, small in thermal conductivity, and low in rate of reheating. The material can reduce the volume of the thermal equipment masonry, reduce its weight, shorten the heating time, ensure the furnace temperature is uniform, reduce heat loss, save energy, improve operating conditions and improve production efficiency. Mullite insulating bricks is a very excellent lining material between heavy refractory materials and traditional insulating refractory materials (fiber products). The hot surface can directly contact the high temperature of 1600 °C for a long time.

Mullite Insulation Brick Classification

1. Mullite insulating brick are sintered mullite bricks and electric fused mullite bricks.

The sintered mullite brick is made of high alumina bauxite clinker as a main raw material, and a small amount of clay or raw bauxite is added as a binder, mullite thermal insulation bricks is formed by molding and firing.

The electric melting mullite brick is made of high alumina, industrial alumina and refractory clay, and is added with charcoal or coke fine particles as a reducing agent,Mullite insulating brick is formed by reduction electrofusion after molding.

2. Mullite insulation bricks can be divided into light mullite bricks and heavy mullite bricks according to mullite lightweight fire brick density.

3.According to the mullite lightweight fire brick application temperature, high temperature mullite insulation brick can be divided into: 1350 mullite brick, 1450 mullite brick, 1550 mullite brick and so on.

Mullite Insulation Brick Features

1. Mullite insulating light bricks is green, non-toxic, non-corrosive, safe to use.

2. Mullite thermal insulation bricks have good adaptability to cement.

3. The mullite insualtion refractory brick is foamed by a foaming mechanism to obtain a foam having a uniform bubble diameter.

4. Mullite insulation fire brick have excellent foaming performance, the foaming multiple can reach more than 30 times.

5. Mullite insulation fire brick have low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation effect.

6. Mullite lightweight fire brick have low heat fusion, due to low thermal conductivity, mullite series of mullite lightweight insulation bricks accumulate little heat energy, energy saving effect is obvious in intermittent operation.

7. Low mullite insulation fire brick impurity content has a very low oxide content such as iron box alkali metal, so the refractoriness is high; the higher aluminum content maintains good performance under reducing atmosphere.

8.Mullite insulation fire brick have high thermal compressive strength.
9. the appearance of the mullite lightweight fire brick size is accurate, speed up the masonry, reduce the amount of refractory mud, to ensure the strength and stability of the masonry, thereby extending the life of the lining.

10. Mullite lightweight fire brick can be processed into a special shape to reduce the number of Mullite insulation refractory bricks and joints.
